I was driving the ice cream truck to a fireworks show two counties away. While driving through the middle county, the random rural road I chose had many people in formal dress near a field. I noticed the crowd of people when I was about a third of a mile away. As I got closer, I speculated that it might be a wedding party. I grabbed my camera as I approached them and some of them started running toward me. The fun part was that their photographer took advantage of an ice cream truck showing up as a prop. The SUPER cool aspect was that the bride & groom met me four years before that when both of them rode to their prom in the ice cream truck with me. One of their bridesmaids rode to her prom two years in a row in the ice cream truck driven by me. The stories about the prom rides are in Chapter VII of my book: “Lessons from an Ice Cream Truck”
I found out that, as I was approaching with the music playing, one of them asked, “Is that Pineapple 16 coming down the road ?” When they saw my spider hat on my head, they knew it was me.
